We’re celebrating our first anniversary!
It has already (or only?) been a year since we established Perfat to commercialize the perfect fats developed at the University of Helsinki. During the first year, we have achieved a lot:
- Fundraising: we have successfully raised equity from highly respected investors such as Nordic Science Investments, Big Idea Ventures and University of Helsinki Funds.
- Team: We have grown the team to 8 FTEs + several part-timers. Not only do we have some of the leading talents globally within the field of oleogels but we also have a great mix of other talents with expertise in material physics, B2B sales, operations and finance. Super proud of our team!
- Own premises: We have established our own offices + analytical and food application labs to further expand and speed up our own R&D and application development capabilities.
- Partnerships and awards: We have been selected to several accelerator programs and industry forums such as Big Idea Ventures, Plug and Play Tech Center and MISTA and scooped home prizes at various industry events, including Hello Tomorrow and Food Tech Challengers.
- Commercial traction: Most importantly, we have gained fantastic traction with leading regional and global food and food ingredient producers and have already concluded our first joint development projects.
We are all looking forward to further positive developments and collaborations with our partners in the coming year!
In the photos below, our Perfat team is enjoying a break during our anniversary offsite trekking in Nuuksio national park. After a good walk in the wilderness, we continued the day in a beautiful villa near the sea shore (take a look at the view from the living room!) in Inkoo for a strategy session, good self-made food, and sauna & swimming in the sea.
