It’s a wrap!
With 2024 now over it is a good time to reflect on what we have achieved.
There is no doubt that our secret sauce is our multidisciplinary, super talented team. In 2024, we have doubled our team from 5 FTEs to 10 FTEs (+ a number of part-timers), without compromising on quality. We are super happy to have you Afsane Garcia, Dr. Camila Palla, Monica Salsano, Patrick Grahn and Mohsen Mardani onboard. We look forward to doubling the size of the team again over the coming 12 months.
Our R&D and application teams have succeeded in developing many new product prototypes and applications during the year. Our strong tech expertise has also been recognized externally, resulting in a number of industry awards, including:
– January: One of the winners at the EIT Food Corporate Challenge
– March: Winner of the Food and Agritech track at Hello Tomorrow in Paris!
– May: Winner of the ‘New Ingredient of the Year’ at the Food Tech Congress
– November: Winner of the ‘Most Innovative Food of Beverage Ingredient’ at FI Europe in Frankfurt
Not bad for a company that is about a year and a half old 😊. Next year, you are less likely to see us in pitching competitions, but you will still find us at various industry events, both in Europe and the US.
The awards are nice but the positive interaction with our customers is even more important. We are extremely proud to have been able to engage in joint development projects with leading European and global food and food ingredient producers. In 2025, we aim to grow the number of commercial partnerships and work towards launching the first commercial products with Perfat® inside.
As we are still a young start-up, our finance providers and other ecosystem partners are essential to us. We are grateful for the financial support provided by Nordic Science Investments, University of Helsinki Funds and Businesss Finland. Finally, we are privileged to have participated in the Plug and Play Food & Beverage accelerator program in Silicon Valley and the Start Life á la carte program in the Netherlands as well as benefiting from the continued support of Big Idea Ventures.
