PPMS Privacy Statement

Price Performance Measurement Systems, Inc. takes our clients' right to privacy very seriously. We guarantee that no client or portfolio names or information will be intentionally given or sold to any other organization without the client's express permission. We have also taken great pains to protect our web site on a secured server with a firewall and encrypt all client information stored on-line. Despite such efforts, we are aware that hacker break-ins under similar circumstances have been known to occur, and we have therefore designed the PPMS system to avoid the need for most client-personal information. The actual names for portfolios are thus an option, not a required field, and can be added to reports by the manager under their own security. No social security or FIT numbers are required at all. Even security identifiers (ticker symbols or Cusip numbers) are optional. It is quite plausible to enter all transactions as simply a series of numbers and transaction types without any character data which might identify portfolio holdings. The only disadvantage to this approach is the difficulty of identifying specific transactions after the fact in the case of performance reconciliation. In short, we have made the system as user friendly and safe as possible but it is still the responsibility of the user to maintain the privacy of his/her passwords and make the decisions appropriate to their organization. In the extreme case of a large investment advisor or accounting service, it is quite possible to create a separate server on the client's premises and thus avoid all need for sending any non-index information over the internet. Please call if this option might apply to you.
